“Deep-Flex” Crankbait Series

These new Deep Flex (DF) crankbait rods are a totally new design that creates a much slower taper and softer flex. They are incredibly light, yet still provide unbelievable sensitivity and lure control. The softer flex allows the baits to wobble and vibrate freely which improves the lure’s action. With faster rods, the lure has to be “ripped” over obstructions where the softer rod allows it to work its way over or around the cover the way it was designed which is far more attractive to the fish. It also lets the bass to engulf the bait with very little resistance. Bass actually suck the lure in by opening their gills & gill covers to allow a large amount of water to flow freely into their mouth, bringing the lure along with it. Rods with fast actions can actually pull the bait away from the bass and not allow the natural “flow” to occur, resulting in short strikes, poor hook-ups and missed fish. Another nice advantage is that the softer action is very forgiving when the fish runs or jumps so you are less apt to lose them. Now it’s time to get excited. Crankbait anglers have never had it so good!

This is a nice rod for fishing small to medium-sized lipless crankbaits, deep-divers and shallow runners. It’s perfect for fishing crankbaits in open water. Its soft flex and slow taper really gives the lure a lot more action. It is extremely accurate for close-quarter work. If you are one of those anglers that think fiberglass is the answer, then you need try this rod. It has all the “advantages” glass gives you at half the weight and talk about sensitive… it adds another whole dimension to fishing crankbaits.
